Robert L. Castle, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Dr. Castle received his Medical Degree from George Washington University in 1976 and subsequently completed a four-year residency program. He has been in private practice in the Northern Virginia area since 1980. He is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. He has served as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Department of OB/GYN at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital, and past president of INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital Medical Staff. He is an active staff member of INOVA Fair Oaks and Potomac Hospitals. Dr. Castle’s interest in the field of OB/GYN is multifaceted. He enjoys golf, skiing, and professional sports.
Leonard
A. Rosen, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Dr. Rosen attended George Washington University Medical Center where he received his Medical Degree in 1976. He subsequently completed a four-year residency program at George Washington University where he served as Chief Resident in 1980. He has been in private practice in the Northern Virginia area since 1980. Dr. Rosen is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is an active Fellow in both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of the INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital Medical Executive Committee, and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine. He is certified by the American College of Gynecologic Endoscopists. He is an active staff member of INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. Although Dr. Rosen enjoys the entire scope of OB/GYN practice, he has a keen interest in the latest laparoscopic assisted procedures, NovaSure Endometrial Ablation, Essure Sterilization procedures, Urodynamic testing and Transvaginal Tape (TVT) procedures. He enjoys underwater photography, scuba diving, skiing, tennis, golf and professional sports.
Lino
C. Montilla, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.
Dr. Montilla received his Medical Degree from George Washington University in 1992. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Washington Hospital Center in 1996. After practicing in Washington D.C. for three years he joined Fairfax OB/GYN Associates in January 1999. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics/Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Montilla holds active privileges at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. Dr. Montilla can speak in multiple languages including English, Spanish and Tagalog.
Melodi L. Wilson, M.D.
Dr. Wilson received her Medical Degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1999. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA in 2003. She is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Wilson joined Fairfax OB/GYN Associates in July 2005 and holds active privileges at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital. Dr. Wilson enjoys reading, gardening and travel.
Shawana Mufti, M.D.
Dr. Mufti received her Medical Degree from King Edward Medical College in 1997. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Franklin Square Hospital in Baltimore, MD in 2007. Dr. Mufti joined Fairfax OB/GYN Associates in August 2007. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Mufti has professional interest in Operative Laparoscopy, Vaginal Hysterectomy and Sling Procedures for stress incontinence. She is fluent in English, Urdu, Punjabi and Hindi. Dr. Mufti enjoys movies and sports.
Gail
A. Edwards, R.N.C., M.S.N., A.N.P.
Gail is a Master’s prepared Adult Nurse Practitioner who
has specialized in women’s health care. She received her
Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1970
and spent the ensuing years in a variety of nursing roles such
as childbirth educator, labor and delivery nurse, and school nurse.
Her interests lie in providing primary care for women of all ages
with an emphasis on prevention of illness and promotion of wellness.
Gail is a member of the American Nurses Association, Northern
Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners, Virginia Nurses Association,
Association of Reproductive Health Professionals, and the American
Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology. Gail enjoys skiing,
golf and spending time with family, friends and her dog.
Karen
L. Foster-Anderson, L.N.P., C.N.M., M.S.
Karen received her Masters Degree in Science from the Medical
College of Virginia in 1988. She received her certification as
a Nurse-Midwife from the Frontier School of Family Nursing and
Nurse Midwifery in 1995. During the past 17 years, Karen has practiced
in women’s health care in Northern Virginia and Martinsburg,
West Virginia. She is able to care for our clients before, during
and after the birth of their baby. She is certified by the American
College of Nurse Midwives and is an ASPO Certified Childbirth
Educator. Karen is actively involved in scouting and community
sports while raising her 3 sons.
Elizabeth
S. Goodiel, C.N.M, C.R.N.F.A., C.N.O.R., M.S.
Beth
received her undergraduate degree in nursing from George Mason
University with a BSN. She worked in labor and delivery until
she returned to school to study surgery from Delaware Community
College in Pennsylvania, where she became a certified surgical
first assistant. She began working for Fairfax OB/GYN Associates
in 1990 as their first assistant, working with patients having
cesarean sections and GYN surgeries. In 1998, Beth received her
Masters Degree from Georgetown University, completing her certification
requirements in midwifery. She continues to act as first assistant
in surgery as well as assisting couples in the birth of their
babies. Beth has been teaching childbirth education for 25 years,
as well as giving seminars to educate student midwives on cesarean
delivery. Beth has numerous activities to enjoy, including white-water
rafting, skiing, scuba diving and anything related to her grandchildren.
Mary
Rojas, R.T., R.D.M.S.
Mary
has been a Board Certified Radiologic Technologist since 1990
and a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer since 1994. She
joined Fairfax OB/GYN Associates in 1998 and performs Obstetric
and Gynecological sonograms as well as Bone Density Exams (DEXA
Scans). She has been a member of the Society for Diagnostic Medical
Sonographers since 1996.
Claudia Thayer
As Operations Manager, Ms. Thayer oversees all operational functions of the practice, including patient satisfaction, daily operations, compliance and purchasing. Jacqueline Altice As Practice Administrator Ms. Altice oversees all administrative functions in the practice, including managing daily receipts and accounts payable, payroll and benefits, insurance liaison and contracting, provider credentialing and maintaining the general well being of the practice by working closely with the operations and billing managers to ensure an efficient, well-organized practice.
